Edith May Hastings Ferguson 1933 ~ 2023 Edith May Furgison was born in Knoxville, Iowa, on February 12, 1933 to Harold M. & Edna E. Furgison, both of Tracy, Iowa. She had 3 siblings, her older sisters, Gweneth and Wilma and her younger brother, Harold (Dwane). Edith married Cecil L Hastings in June of 1950 and went on to have five children; Deanna, Dale, Darryl, Dawn and Douglas. In 1963, the family moved to Springfield, Oregon where she still resided until her passing. Her husband, Cecil preceded her in death in 1980, son Dale in 1982 and son Douglas in 2019. She later married Bobbie Ferguson; who also preceded her in death. Edith is survived by her two daughters, Deanna and Dawn and their families, both of Springfield, and of son, Darryl of Veneta, 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchild. Edith was blessed with many nieces and nephews across the United States, and enjoyed their company whenever possible. She remained very close to her son, Doug’s friends: Ted Ingwerson, Doug Hill and Alan Mardueno, throughout the years and claimed them as her own sons. She look forward to and enjoyed frequent visits from her neighbors, Sharen Surmier and Chis Ruiz. Thank you to all for your kindness and support during mom’s illness.
