It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, grandpa, uncle, and special friend, James D. Cade, 83, of Homedale, Idaho, on August 10, 2021. James “Jim” was born on May 4, 1938, in Whitewater, Kansas to Theodore and Mary Cade. Jim attended Centerville Elementary School and graduated Sanger High School. Jim entered the Navy in 1958, and served four years as a cook. In Jim’s younger years, he would be outside playing and if he saw a flower, he would stop playing, pick the flower, and take it in to his mom. Jim met the love of his life, Bonnie Ward, at Pierce’s Park in Sanger. They were married March 29, 1966, in Fresno, California. Jim and Bonnie went on many fishing trips and played many, many card games. Jim loved gardening, telling stories, visiting with friends, NASCAR, and sprint car racing. Jim is survived by stepdaughters, LaDon Solomon-Turner of Missouri and Teresa Lee of Oregon; special niece, Karen Brisco of Burlington, Washington; many grandchildren; nephews; nieces; and very special friends: Janet, Ivy, Raymond, and family. Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie; parents, Ted and Mary; five siblings; granddaughter, Shannon; and grandson, Dale. Jim could light up a room – he was a very caring, loving person, loved animals, loved his family and his friends. Jim will be sorely missed. A viewing will take place on Friday, August 13th from 10 a.m. to noon at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, 27 E. Owyhee Avenue in Homedale. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Marsing-Homedale Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Homedale. (208) 459-0833
