Mary Eloise Hockings

Mary Eloise Reynolds Hockings, age 92 passed away on February 9, 2024 in Tucson, Arizona. Born In Peoria, Illinois on November 29, 1931 to Ernest William Reynolds and Lois Myrtle Jensen, Mary was an only child until at age 18, her sister Teri (Gene) was added to the family. During her college years in Tucson, she attended Nurse's training at St. Mary's Hospital leaving just short of attaining her Registered Nursing degree in 1952 to marry John Everett Hockings. As a Navy bride, Mary awaited John's return in Portsmouth, VA while he was on active duty and world tour. Daughters Renda (James) came along, followed by Mary Margaret (Alan) and Barbara within the initial five years of marriage. Mary listed her occupations as wife and mother, excelling at both, until her daughters were nurtured through high school. Mary began residing permanently in Tucson, AZ in 1962 becoming a real estate agent and broker. Mary loved people and houses attributes which made for a wonderful realtor, sustaining her career for well over 25 years. Mary was very social, loved family, holidays, entertaining, golf and traveling on the arm of a few very special "loves of her life." Not only is Mary survived by her sister and three daughters, but she also has two grandsons Adam (Natalie) and Andrew (Carolina) and two great grandchildren Alec and Casey. We will gather as a family to celebrate a charmed life well lived - Mom always loved a party.
