David James Bassett

David James Bassett of Gilbert AZ passed away in Auburn/Seattle Washington, on November 1, 2015, at the age of 76. David was born on September 9, 1939 in Preston, Idaho to Preston and Ruth Bassett. Graduated Preston High School and served in the United States Navy. Dave worked for several companies including Thiokol, Motorola and True Value Hardware. He worked for Aztec Enterprises for 25 years, retired and then owned Sunbelt Chemical Inc., a pool service company. David was involved in Boy Scouting most of his life. Other hobbies and activities include camping, hunting, fishing, woodworking, photography, cross country skiing, joke telling, Scottish Highland games (especially the haggis) and enjoying family activities. David is survived by his wife Charlene Bassett of 53 years, daughter Christine Bassett, son Richard (Yulieda) Bassett, son John (Carolina) Bassett, daughter Natalie Peace, daughter Celia (LK) Beadle, daughter LyleAnne (Michael) Strawn, daughter Jamie (Raymond) Jones, daughter Elizabeth (Ward) Meldrum, daughter Rachel (Mike) Evans, thirty four grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Brothers Lynn Bassett, Jay (Dixie) Bassett, Sylvan Bassett, along with many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at Falconer Funeral Home, 251 W Juniper Ave, Gilbert Arizona 85233 on Sunday, November 8, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints Cullumber Ward, 220 East Cullumber Gilbert, AZ 85234 on November 9, 2015 at 10:00 A.M.
