Hazel SchmoeA memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 10 at Northwood Christian Church in Springfield for Hazel M. Schmoe of Eugene, who died Aug. 29 of age-related causes. She was 88.Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 10 at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.She was born Nov. 24, 1921, in Deerfield, Kan., to Harley and Bessie Messerschmitt Martin. She married Normal Clore on Jan. 25, 1942, in California. He died April 11, 1945. She married Russell Schmoe on Sept. 21, 1946, in Pilot Rock. He died June 24, 1991.She graduated from high school in Coolidge, Kan., and attended business school in Denver. She worked in the office at Sheldon High School, and in the Eugene School District administrative office in the accounting department.Survivors include a son, Terry of Halfway; a daughter, Annette Smith of Eugene; a brother, Jim Martin of Hillsboro; two sisters, Harriette Mays of Hillsboro and Evelyn Teegarden of Salem; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.A granddaughter, Kellye Schmoe, died in 1984.Entombment will be at Valley View Memorial Park.
