Arthur Ozias Art Ozias was born August 16, 1929 in Whittier, California. He went to be with his beloved wife Ruth on September 18, 2017. Ruth and their poodles have been waiting for him since January, 2010. They are now together, forever and always. A Celebration of Life for Art will be held on October 14, 2017, at 485 Riddle Rd. Crescent at 1:00 PM. Art was a “jack of all trades” and master of many. He was in the Air Corp as a young man and learned to be a mechanic. He married Ruth in Reno, Nevada and together they worked as long haul truckers with their own trucks, A&R Trucking and traveled across the USA. They settled down in Gilroy, California and took in 27 foster boys and 1 girl, they all looked up to him as a good role model. They also loved animals, raising poodles, Siamese cats and fish. They moved to Golden Valley, Arizona and opened A&R Craft Store and RV Repair business. They had a very happy, busy life together traveling in their RV’s and riding dune buggies and motorcycles. They moved to Crescent, Oregon where they built a home together. He worked for the Forest service and they were camp hosts at Wickiup and Davis Lakes during the summers. He also drove tour buses and tow truck. The enjoyed making crafts and selling them at different outdoor markets. After Ruth went to Heaven, Art was lost without her. He stayed home a lot and watched old westerns and read a lot of Clive Cussler books. He enjoyed the company of his neighbors and dear friends, Doyle and Betty, Jerry and Audrey and Frank and Dee. He couldn’t have gotten along like he did without his wonderful caregiver, Pama Hayes who was always there for him, and as a friend after he went into the Care Homes. A very sincere thank you to all the wonderful people who helped care for Art at the Prairie House in LaPine and Chateau Gardens in Springfield. His only foster daughter, Donna Traw and family – Ross, Andre, Jason and great granddaughter Paisley were the loves of his life. He was so proud of the ‘47’ Ford truck that Jason rebuilt and took him for rides in. He loved playing with Paisley when the second hand on his watch got to 12 it meant “kiss time” to her and she made him laugh. He was a very loving, caring friend and Dad. He proves that “Anyone can be a father but it takes someone special to be a DAD!”, and that blood does not make you family, love does. Anyone that knew him, will remember his great sense of humor. He lived his life with passion and enjoyed his friends, family and people he met along the way. He moved to Springfield to be closer to be daughter Donna and family. The made many cherished family memories together…
