She was preceded in death by her son Michael (Mike) James and her husband, Patrick (Pat) Joseph Kirk. Jennie, born October 2, 1932 in Washington DC, was the 3rd child of Althea Norwood Barnes and Lloyd Benton Rinehart, and younger sister to Jack Rinehart, FL and Patricia Wrobel, MD. Her careers spanned nearly 7 decades, consisting of collections, accounting and administrative, concluding at age 83 upon the insistence of her brain and doctor. Jennie filled her time and heart with work, volunteering, gardening, crafts and family. In the '60s she relocated from the east coast to the bay area where she met and married her 2nd husband, Pat in '65. In '85 she moved to Aurora, OR to fulfill a shared dream with Pat of owning Kirk's Aurora Crossing Antiques. Jennie leaves a legacy of unbounded positivity, breathtaking amounts of anonymous giving known only by her daughter and God, a crafting craze, signature hairstyle, and a creative flair for seasonal decorating home, office, car, garden. She was an avid gardener, meeting God there for "Church". She believed deeply in treating others fairly and with dignity, living a Christ-like life of service and devotion. One would never leave her home hungry nor empty-handed. She takes with her good, joyful-deep-gratitude, magic, beautiful, verdant, flower-filled karma. Jennie was a kindness warrior, running several top secret love missions, up through the final days of her life. She had a knack for melting chilly hearts with a kind word and deed mixed with a sparkling smile, wink and clever joke. She is perhaps best remembered for building bridges where others not dare and making it easy to love her. Jennie is survived by her daughter Patricia Ann (Annie) Kirk and son-in-law Steve Heer; her grandsons Ambrose Heer, and Jacob M. (Jake), Elijah (Eli), Samuel (Sam) Kirk; great grandson, Jacob C. Kirk; extended family many of whom considered her THE favorite aunt; and a world of friends, for whom she loved dearly. She lay in rest at the St. Paul Cemetery, Oregon. At her request, a "low key", private Celebration of Life for Jennie will be held August 22, 2020 at her daughter's residence. A memorial garden will be created in honor of her spirit for those that treasured her to share church with her, in perpetuity.
