On Thursday, June 26 a kind and loving soul entered his eternal home to rest and is waiting to be reunited with his beloved wife and family. Margarito Torres was born on June 10, 1930. He served his country in the US Army active duty for 24 years and it was during his tour in Germany that he met and married the love of his life Monika Brauch. He never stopped serving his fellow man and veteran brothers until the end. He was admired and cherished by his immediate and extended families. He is survived by his devoted spouse of 55 years Monika Torres, 5 daughters Elvira Torres and fiancé Tony Palmer of Salinas, Sonja Pebworth of Oklahoma, Diana Bridges and husband Chuck of Las Vegas, Nancy Farias and husband Cesar of San Miguel, Barbara Torres of San Antonio Texas and his only son Karl Adam Leo Torres and girlfriend Jeneen Schuber of the home. Six grandchildren Matthew Pebworth and wife Jenna of Oklahoma, Jordan Bridges of Las Vegas, Destiny Pebworth of Oklahoma, Stephanie McMercury and wife Lauren of Seaside, Monika Bridges and fiancé Paul Gilroy of Las Vegas and Daniel Bridges of Las Vegas. One great grandchild Roslyn Faith Reese of Oklahoma. One brother Alfred S Torres of San Diego CA. Sisters Cuca Delgado of Albuquerque New Mexico and Tina Trimble of Colton CA. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families who loved him with all their hearts. He had many beloved pets whom he cherished and loved who also mourn his passing. He will be laid to rest on Thursday July 3, 2014 at Mission Memorial Park in Seaside CA.

For almost 100 years, our cemetery has served the residents of the Monterey Bay Area. Mission Memorial Park opened in 1934 as Mission Memorial Cemetery and for many years was run by the City of Monterey. In 1988, Monterey Peninsula Mortuary opened on the grounds of our beautiful Seaside location. In 2007 we closed our Chapel of Seaside at our Noche Buena location and merged the two to become Mission Mortuary & Memorial Park....
