Todd Randall Berger
July 18th, 1953 - March 14th, 2016
Obituary Todd Randall Berger passed on March 14 at the age of 62 in Wellington, CO after a long battle with cancer. Todd was born July 18, 1953 in Lincoln, NE. He received his bachelor's degree from University of Nebraska Lincoln in 1985; his Bachelors of Nursing degree from Creighton in 1995; and his Masters of Nursing from UNMC in 2005. In 1981 he appeared in a Lincoln Community Playhouse production of "Fiddler on the Roof" as Motel beside his father as Tevye. "One of the greatest experiences of my life." His love of theater continued for the next 12 years while he lived in Virginia. He appeared in over 40 community theater, semi-professional and professional productions. Most notably as Cervantes/Quixote in "Man of La Mancha", Stanley in "A Street Car Named Desire", Titus Oates in "Terra Nova", juror #4 in "12 Angry Men" and Valmont in "Dangerous Liaisons". Moving back to the Lincoln/Omaha area in 1994 he began a nursing career that spanned 18 years both as a nurse and clinical nurse specialist. His career culminated in a position with the Wyoming State Board of Nursing as the Practice and Education Consultant before retiring in 2012. He met his wife, Dana Blanks, in Cheyenne, WY in 2006. They were married in March of 2013 and moved to Wellington, CO. Todd fulfilled a life-long dream of taking pottery classes and both he and Dana enjoyed golfing, snowshoeing, hiking and camping. Todd is proceeded in death by his father Dale V. Berger and his mother Dolores R. Berger. He is survived by his wife, Dana Blanks, his brother Corey, Sister-in-law Janine, and 2 nephews Casey and Max. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating blood and/or platelets in Todd's memory.
