Douglas Hallgren, 68, of Chico died Sunday, October 22 at Paradise Hospice House after a prolonged illness. Doug was born August 24, 1949 in Long Beach, California to Theodore and Thelma Hallgren. Doug retired in 2015 from his business, Hi-Tech Industrial Services where he performed mechanical engineering. For nearly ten years, Doug volunteered service to Butte County Search and Rescue. He loved fishing, WWII history, his home, family and his dog Max. Doug is survived by his wife Denise, mother Thelma, brother Eric Hallgren (Cheryl), sister Karen Thompson (Loren), nephew Stephen Hallgren and many grandchildren. A brief viewing will be on Friday, October 27 at 3:00 p.m. at Brusie Funeral Home. A service will be held the following day, Saturday, October 28 at 1:00 p.m at Brusie Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Butte County Search and Rescue.
