Jesus Santoyo
December 26th, 1989 - January 12th, 2024
Jesus “Jesse” Santoyo was born December 26, 1989, in Salinas, California. to his parents, Jesus H. Santoyo and Irene Garza (Fernandez). He passed away on January 12, 2024, after suffering a traumatic brain injury just 50 minutes into the new year. He was only 34 years old. Jesse graduated from Everett Alvarez High School, Class of 2008. Jesse’s passing was preceded by the death of his mother Irene Garza (Fernandez) in January 2020, father Jesus H. Santoyo in January 2021 and his brother Michael Angel Garza in March 2022. Jesse is survived by his two sisters, Monica Garza-Garcia (Lorenzo Garcia) and Veronica Garza (Tomas Tavares); his nephews, Lorenzo Garcia Jr. (Viviana Gama), Angel R. Garcia (Lycia Gutierrez), Anthony Garcia (Felicia Santana), and Tomas Tavares Jr; his niece, Karina Tavares-Franco (Juan Franco). He is also survived by his grand-nephews and nieces: Elijah D. Garcia, Dalila A. Garcia, Angel J. Garcia, Natalie R. Garcia, Adelynn N. Garcia, Isaiah A. Garcia, Marybella A. Mexicano, Layla A. Franco and Anthony R. Franco. Those closest to Jesse were favored to know his jovial fun-going persona that enjoyed dirt bike riding, camping and just spending time with family. In recent months, he took pleasure in working with family providing taquiza food service at local community events. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary’s of the Nativity Church (424 Towt. St., Salinas, CA) at 10am on Monday, January 29, 2024.

At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
