Lawrence Fuentez Mercado, 52, longtime resident of Salinas, passed away on January 3, 2014 in Salinas. Lawrence was born on March 1, 1961 in Hollister, CA. He previously worked at Monterey Pasta for over 2 years. Lawrence was a an avid San Francisco 49'er fan. He enjoyed fishing, video games and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Lawrence is survived by sons, Stephen, Julian and Joshua Mercado all of Salinas daughters, Jessica Mercado of Salinas Jennifer Mercado of Merced Janelle Mercado of Arizona grandchildren, Imani, Mary Jane and Michael, Jr. sisters, Mary Mercado of San Jose and Martha and Edith Mercado brothers, Ray Orosco of Visalia Pete Mercado of Los Angeles Felix Mercado of Salinas Ruben Mercado of Houston, Texas Daniel Mercado of San Antonio, Texas He is preceded in death by his brother, Gilbert Mercado Graveside Services at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery will be held (date/time to be announced)
