Mrs. Lorenza M. "Lorrie" Celaya, 87, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 in Salinas. She was born August 10, 1926 in Belen, Texas and resided in Gonzales with her family for 67 years. She was a member of St. Theodore's Catholic Church. Lorrie loved her S.F. Giants after her son introduced her to the sport in the 1960's. She loved to travel with her daughter, Yolanda, enjoying serveral trips to Hawaii, Mexico, and various excursions throughout California. Lorrie loved her husband of 58 years, and her children unconditionally. She was a kind, strong, sweet, and a God loving woman. She is survived by her son, Ernest R. Celaya Jr.; her daughter, Yolanda (Thad) Celaya-Evans; and a sister, Connie. Lorrie is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. She is prededed in death by her husband, Ernest Celaya Sr.; her brother Pedro, and sisters, Vera and Petra. Visitation will be held at St. Theodore's Catholic Church in Gonzales on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 5 to 9 PM. A Rosary will be held, Monday, March 17, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the the Church. Celebration of the Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Church. Burial will follow in the Gonzales District Cemetery, Gonzales, CA
