Douglas Wayne Cecil, 53, born in Detroit, Mi, passed on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Doug, raised in Madison Heights, Mi. graduated from Madison Heights Highschool in 1985. At the age of 23, Doug, with an entrepreneurial mindset, started a landscaping and paving business. He instilled the importance of work ethic on his kids. He continued to be self-employed and passionate about life. He can be remembered as being a youth football coach, avid sports enthusiast and was known to hit the Hard Rock Casino on a regular basis. Doug, the youngest of five children was born on May, 24th by McKinley and Joanne Cecil. He is survived by his brothers, Gary and Kim Cecil and sisters, Joyce Nordstrom and Sandra Humphries. Doug’s wife of 27 years, April, sons Ryan (Aly) Kirby and Dillon (Sarah) Cecil and daughter Brittany (Sean) Cecil will celebrate Doug at the Highland Memorial Park on January 18, 2021. Most recently, Doug’s most precious memories are the ones he shared with his granddaughters, Naveah, Kinley, Liah and Aubrey. We are all grateful for the overwhelming support and prayers. John 14:27 I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
