KATHLEEN, GA- Jeannie Linda "Curley" Alston-Winston, 73, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, 11:00AM at Moore Street Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. Curley was born July 29, 1948 in Battleboro, North Carolina to the late James and Jean Alston. She retired after forty-two years as an educator for the Richmond Community Action Program and then went to work in Human Resources for Goodwill of Central Virginia. Curley was a lifetime member of the Moore Street Baptist Church where she was a member of various groups and committees. She was an original member of the Young Women's Christian League Golden Hearts Chapter. Curley was a certified Wedding Planner and loved to make floral arrangements. She enjoyed traveling around the world, and of the seven countries Curley visited she loved Germany and Luxenburg the most. More than anything she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Winston; brothers: James "Pete" and Dwight Alston Curley is survived by her daughter, Monica (Tony) Cave; sister Sharon Tuppience of Virginia; grandchildren: Lauryn and Sydnei Cave of Maryland; two devoted nephews: Tony and Bryant Alston; and a host of relatives and friends.
