Margery Elizabeth Carter Bell Margery E. Bell, 88, passed away on September 25, 2013 due to dementia. She was born on February 5, 1925 in Sanford, FL to Wilma G. And Loren B. Carter. She graduated from Winter Haven High in 1942 and Florida State College for Women in 1946 with a B.S. degree in Dietetics. Margery met her husband, the former Walter G Bell, attorney, at the Methodist Church in Miami where she was working as a dietitian at Jackson Memorial Hospital and he was attending University of Miami School of Law. They married Dec 19, 1949 and were married 56 years. They took the entire family on the Disney Cruise to celebrate their 50th Anniversary. Moving back to Winter Haven upon Walter's graduation, Margery worked as a Registered Dietitian and Manager of the kitchen and Dietetic Department at Lakeland General Hospital. She was a Girl Scout leader for 12 years, teaching numerous skills including outdoor cooking on many camping trips. She taught Science and was head of that department at Golfview Jr/Union Academy for 15 years. Margery was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother. She was a lover of animals and gardening. Margery was recognized for 50 years of Membership from the American Dietetic Association. She was a member of Beymer Methodist Church for 76 years, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 59 years and Bouquet Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter G Bell. She is survived by her two daughters Kathy Brinton (Tom), Trudy Adams (Dan); 5 grandsons: Mathew (Ana)Brinton, Evan (Karina) Brinton, Carter, Chris and Nathan Adams, and great-grandchildren Audrey and Lissette Brinton and Jesse Adams. Visitation will be at Oak Ridge Funeral Home in Winter Haven on Monday, September 30 from 6-8 PM. The service will be held at Beymer Methodist Church on Tuesday, October 1st at 10 AM. Memorial donations can be made to Good Shepherd Hospice or Beymer Methodist Church.
