Carolyn "Sue" Gustafson, age 87 and 1 day, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away April 19, 2021 in Parker, Colorado.She was born April 18, 1934 to Alice and Boyd Yon in Greybull, Wyoming. Sue went to high school in Alliance, Nebraska, class of 1952. She went on to earn a degree in Nursing from Nebraska Methodist College, class of 1955.Sue and Ed married in 1957 and worked and traveled with the United States Air Force until settling in Colorado Springs for forty-five years. Sue worked as a Registered Nurse for thirty-seven years.Sue was involved in music. She played with the Colorado Springs Orchestra and in the Pikes Peak New Horizons Band until her arms would no longer allow her to master the percussion section.Sue enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and especially indulging her sweet tooth. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth E. "Gus" Gustafson; and sister, Ruth (Dale) Hilton.She is survived by her son, Steven (Leslie); three grandsons, Scott, who serves in the U.S. Navy, Steven Jr. (Ginger) and Blaze (Chelsea); and three great-grandchildren, Aurora, Gabriel and Zander; a brother, Paul; and three nieces, Jantina (Wayne), Melissa (Scott) and Chelsea (Dan).A Celebration of Life will take place in Colorado Springs in mid-summer 2021 followed by the spreading of Sue and Ed's ashes.
