Irma Swain, 100, of Tampa, Florida passed away on July 17, 2021. Born in Shipman, Illinois to Walter and Lottie May French. She moved to Florida in 1927 when she was six years old. She taught at Stetson University during World War II and that's where she met the love of her life Clifford Swain after he returned from the War and finished his education. Irma also ran Clifford's State Farm Office for a few years before returning to teaching full-time. Irma taught at Haines City High School for many years before she retired at the age of 63. She then went on to volunteer as a Pink Lady at Heart of Florida Hospital and ran the gift shop for many years and then became President of the Auxiliary. She was a member of Eastern Star and book club; she was also a member of NorthRidge Baptist Church in Haines City. Irma is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lottie French, husband; Clifford Swain, daughters; Baby Swain and Charlotte Ann Storm, she is survived by her daughter; Susan Reid, grandson; Bobby Hartman; great granddaughter; Kyleigh Hartman. A memorial service will be held at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City on Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 11:00 am.
