Montagna, Joseph, 91, of Sun City Center, Florida died October 1, 2012. Joe was born on April 7, 1921 in Norfolk, Virginia. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Reggie Montagna; daughter Marcia (Glenn) Dowell; son Dr. Douglas (Laura) Montagna; grandchildren Ashleigh and Nicholas Dowell. He was a graduate of the United State Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut. During World War II, he served in the South Pacific. Two years later, he resigned his commission and joined the family business, Montagna Shoes, Inc. in Norfolk, Virginia; where he remained until his retirement. Twenty years ago, he moved to Sun City Center with his wife. He volunteered for a time with Sun City Center Emergency Squad and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks, the Men's Club and the Italian Club. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Monday, October 15, 2012 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to LifePath Hospice or the Sun City Center Emergency Squad. Arrangements by Sun City Center Funeral Home, Sun City Center, Fla (813) 634-9900
