Robert "Bob" Foster passed away August 10, 2012 in Sun City Center, Florida. Bob is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Nancy, and by his children and their spouses, Mark and Suzanne Foster, Catherine Brown, Joan and Brent Scofield, Sheila and Adan Garcia and Elizabeth and Steve Elliott, and their children and grandchildren. His son, Robert "Bon" Foster, sister, Esther, and brother, Art, preceded him in death. He is also survived by and will be sorely missed by his brother, Cecil and sisters Niki, Fran and Ronnie and sisters-in-law Katie and Ginny as well as their families and his many friends. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1956. During his career in the college textbook business, he spent 35 years with Ulrich's Bookstore in Ann Arbor, MI, then retired after 15 years with the Nebraska Book Company. Since moving to Sun City Center in 1998, he has volunteered 14 years with the Emergency Squad, serving as an ambulance driver and dispatcher. He also has served in the SCC Security Patrol, was active in American Legion Post 246, and volunteered as a driver with the VFW transportation van. Bob was a member of the weaver's guild and did beautiful cross-stitch work. He will be remembered for his generosity and willingness to give of himself. Memorial Services will take place at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Michigan. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the SCC Emergency Squad, 720 Ray Watson Dr., Sun City Center, FL 33573 or the American Cancer Society, 1462 Oakfield Dr. Brandon, FL 33511.
