Sharon Gainey beloved wife, loving mother, and grandmother passed away on February 24th at Holmes Regional Medical Center. Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to the late Harold and Kathryn Boke, her family moved to Miami, Florida in 1944. In 1959 she married the love of her life, Wayne Gainey, and they started a family. They moved to Brevard County with the USAF in 1970 where they raised their three children Debbie, Michael, and Karl. In 1980, after her husband's passing, Sharon enrolled in classes at Rollins College, ultimately earning two Bachelors Degrees while working part-time as an office manager for a local apartment complex. Sharon was an avid bowler and an active member of the Purple Chickadees Chapter of the Red Hatters. She also worked part-time as a vendor at the Patrick Air Force Base Commissary. Sharon always found ways to have fun without worrying about what anyone was thinking. She loved to put on over-the-top costumes as a way to bring joy to others. She enjoyed reading, attending shows, traveling and scavenging the areas for unique art pieces. Most of all, Sharon loved life. She enjoyed spending time with her grandsons and never missed an important event in their lives. Over the years, Sharon touched the lives of many people. Her spark and infectious laugh will truly be missed. Sharon is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Michael) Pasker, her son Karl Gainey, brother John Boke, grandsons Matthew and Daniel Pasker, and niece Tracie Morrell.
