BROWN, Lashawnda Renee, 32, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. She was born in Springfield, MA and spent most of her childhood in New London, CT. She earned a full scholarship to The Orme School which is a private boarding and day college preparatory high school in Mayer, Arizona where she played on the basketball team and graduated with honors. Lashawnda spent time in Connecticut, Florida, New York, Arizona, and has resided in Georgia for the past several years. Lashawnda was a talented athlete, an entrepreneur, and a free-spirited funny individual. Lashawnda accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior early on, around age 8, when she was baptized into the faith at Shiloh Baptist Church in New London. She loved to sing and perform in the choir. Purple was her favorite color and she enjoyed singing and dancing, sports, the outdoors, video games, and most of all she enjoyed her family and friends. She is survived by her three children Jazzmine, Marcus and Zaire; parents, Charles Brown (Felicia Shingles), Geraldine Townsend-Byro (Adam Byro), Carolyn Brown, and Al Avant; nine siblings, Kristina Hardwick, Tiffany Thorpe, Charles Brown Jr, Jessica Brown, Cameron Brown, Tameka Jordan, Alfie Jordan, Kasahn Townsend-Avant, and AJ Byro. She is also survived by her mate Rashide McGruder. A Memorial Gathering to Celebrate Lashawnda’s Life, will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Loyless Funeral Home in Land O’ Lakes, Florida.
