Bernstein, Howard Mark, 59, of Frederick, MD, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2012. He was born in Washington, DC and graduated from Georgetown Preparatory School in 1969. He graduated from Boston College in 1973, and then earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School in 1976. Howard began his legal career in Miami before moving to St. Petersburg, where he served as an Assistant County Attorney for Pinellas County from 1984 - 1997. He returned to his native Maryland in 2002. While in St. Petersburg, he was an active member of First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Mary Bernstein. He is survived by his daughters Ashley Laughton Bernstein and Laura Whitney Bernstein; Alice R. Huneycutt; a nephew, Michael Gottke and a niece Delia Gottke. A visitation will be held at Anderson McQueen Family Tribute Center, 2201 Dr. M. L. King Jr. St. N., this evening from 6:30 to 8:30.
