Ruth Ann Shell, 77, of Rotonda West, Florida departed this life on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at home surrounded by her family. Born on November 6, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Frank and Agnes Bowman Tiepelman; she had moved to Charlotte County in 2011 coming from St. Charles, Missouri. Ruth loved to travel, sew, read and play cards. She loved sports and played soft ball and volleyball. She would attend every game or wrestling match for her many grandchildren, as well as other school events. A St. Louis Cardinals fan she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. The memories she created for her family and friends will be treasured forever. She was a member of the North Side Christian Church in Englewood. Ruth was united in marriage to N. Dale Shell on January 20, 1962. She is pre-deceased by her parents and in-laws: Milford and Leona Shell and brother-in-law: Larry Fry. Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-eight years: N. Dale Shell of Rotonda West, FL; one daughter: Terri (Randy) Eidson of Camdenton, MO; one son: Jeffrey Dale (Annie Emerson) Shell of Woodson Terrace, MO; ten grandchildren: Jeffrey Ryan, Heather Ryan, Jeff Shell, Jasson Shell, Jeremey Shell, David Sheets, Jessika Shell, Tiffanie-Amber Sheets, Jamy Shell and Jacob Shell; six great-grandchildren: Sierra Westfall, Zoe Ryan, Brenden Westfall, Irena Sheets, Jeff Ryan, Jr., and Morgan Ryan; one sister: Barb (Jim) Thompson; one brother: Ray (Elaine) Tiepelman; brother-in-law: Gale (Sally) Shell; sister-in-laws: Lee Ann Fry, Linda (Mike) Ayetes; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 from 10:30 Am until service time at Noon at the Englewood Community Funeral Home, 3070 South McCall Road, Englewood, Florida with Pastor Ken Bradburn, officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 Pm at Sarasota National VA Cemetery in Sarasota.
