Mary Ive Chastain

Mary Ive Chastain, 69, of Kingspor, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born on April 4, 1948 in Springfield, Illinois to Hubert and Minne (Killion) Thomas. She worked at Indian Path Hospital for a number of years. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Melvin Conrad Carty; parents, Hubert and Minne Thomas; grandson, Stephen Chastain; sisters, Sylvia Fleenor, Sharon Killion, and Sherrie Killion Mary is survived by her son, Richard Chastain; son, David Chastain and wife Maryann; son, James Carty and Evelyn; son, Kenneth Carty; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Vicki Killion; and brother, Roy Lee Thomas. The family will receive friends at Carter Trent Funeral Home, Downtown Kingsport, on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 12:00PM - 2:00PM. Funeral services will follow at 2:00PM with Pastor Lydia Chapman officiating. A graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Lydia Chapman officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers Carter Trent Funeral Home, Downtown Kingsport is serving the Chastain Family.
