Eric Johnson

Eric “Denver Red” Stanley Johnson, 68, of Denver, Colorado passed away peacefully in his home on April 26, 2019 surrounded by his loved ones. Eric was born to Francis “Frank” Willard Johnson and Mary Jane Sims in Denver on March 31, 1951. He attended Loyola Grade School, Morey Middle School, and Manual High School. Eric was married to Juanae McLin on July 13th; they were married for 25 beautiful years, during which they traveled the world together and shared many laughs. Eric worked at Armco Steel for several years before transferring to work at the Street Department for the City of Aurora. He had been with the City for 28 years when he retired as a supervisor in 2009. He spent the last 10 years enjoying his life, always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a family-oriented man of faith with a love for working with his hands, exercise and weight-lifting, classic cars, and wrestling with his grandchildren. Eric is lovingly survived by his Wife Juanae; 4 Daughters: Bernadette Malia (Eric II), Vanica and Erica (Charles) and their Mother Renee, and Ima (Troy) and her Mother Willie Pearl; 10 Grandchildren: Emerson, Eric III, Taryn, Morgan, Peyton, Nyah, Huston IV, Jocelyn, Ariah, and Charlene; 4 Great-grandchildren: Saniah, Ahmai, Sincere, and Sevyn; Brothers: Gregory, and Mark (Denise); and Sisters: Lynette and Rochelle (Curtis); as well as many other family members and friends. Eric is preceded in death by his Grandparents, Parents, and Brother. In lieu of flowers, Eric requested that memorial donations be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
