Donald Joseph Anthony Koehler passed away after a long illness on May 23, 2016. Don was born to Fred and Ellen (Bruckman) Koehler in Buffalo, NY on December 22, 1937. He graduated from Bishop Timon High School and received an associate's degree from Erie County Tech. In 1968, he married Barbara Walker and the family settled in South Buffalo where they had three daughters, Suzanne, Joan, and Nancy. Don retired from the Tonawanda division of Chevrolet, General Motors in 1990. In 2002, the couple moved to Venice, Florida. Donald was predeceased by his parents and brother, Fred. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; daughters Suzanne (Gregory) Wheeler, Joan (Sam) Mauro, Nancy (David) Schleer; nine grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, Heather, and Lucas Wheeler, Benjamin, Alec, and Cameron Mauro, and Joshua and Alexis Schleer; sister-in-law Peggy Koehler; and cousins James Bruckman and Joan Bruckman Brown. Services will be held Saturday, May 28th at 12PM at Epiphany Cathedral in Venice, FL. The family asks that, if you desire, contributions in Don's name may be made to a charity of your choice.
