Lexington, Kentucky Ralph Driggs, 90, beloved husband of Phyllis Engeler Driggs, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 in Lexington, KY. Born June 15, 1924 in Crooksville, Ohio, he was the sixth child of the late Homer Lee and Sarah Grace Sheperd Driggs. He served three years as a Marine in the South Pacific during World War II. He worked in the building supply industry for 40 years, the last 20 as the manager of a building supply warehouse in Mansfield, Ohio. In 1990 he retired to Lexington, KY where he volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at Keeneland. Besides his wife he is survived by five wonderful children, Dennis (Diane) Driggs of Seattle, WA, Sarah (Jim Diers) Driggs of Seattle, WA, Debbie Niehaus of Lexington, KY, Chris (Gidget Dennehy) Driggs of Charlotte, NC and David Driggs of Lexington, KY; seven adored grandchildren, Katie (Brian) Patnode, Joey Diers, Michelle (J.J) Whorley, Sandy (Jacob) Barr all of Seattle, WA, Tom (Mary Beth) Niehaus of Gainsville, FL, Andrew Niehaus and Sam Niehaus of Lexington, KY; five great grandchildren, Cole and Blake Whorley, Madison and Mason Barr and Braden Patnode. Nothing in life was as important to him as his beloved wife and family. Funeral Information A celebration of life will be held at 2pm, Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. A gathering of family will friends will follow from 2:30-3:30 pm.
