Jill Bennett Dickens died March 29, 2016. Jill was born May 9, 1951 to Alice and Ralph Bennett in Dennison, OH. Jill's family moved to Venice in 1968. Jill was a graduate of Venice High School, class of 1969. Jill met her future husband, Ron, while he was on military leave in December 1968. After his return from Vietnam in 1970, Ron and Jill were married on June 11, 1970. After marriage, Jill attended Florida State University, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business. Jill owned a second hand store on Miami Avenue for one year. She then attended Sarasota Votech and became an LPN. She loved being a nurse in Venice. Jill was diagnosed with MS and had to go on disability in 1993. Jill liked going on trips to Ohio and North Carolina, eating out at restaurants, and meeting people and making new friends. She loved her brothers and sisters very much. After 46 years of marriage and companionship, Ron will miss his one and only love very, very much. She is survived by her husband Ron; brothers Tom of New Philadelphia, OH, and Gary and Jim of Venice, FL; and sister, Marla Dieter of Strasburg, OH. She was preceded in death by her father Ralph, step-dad John, mother Alice, and her sister Kay Russell. Jill will be laid to rest next to her mom in Gnadenhutten, Ohio. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, April 3rd at 2PM at Farley Funeral Home Venice Chapel.
