Curtis Wayne Beard

Curtis Wayne Beard, age 72, died in Everett, Washington after a brief illness. Born in Waterman, Illinois on 3/15/38, in 1967 he moved to the Lynnwood, Washington area where he lived until his death on 9/24/10. Curt was the father of five biological and two adopted children, a lifetime journalist and avid music lover. He served as a board member and newsletter editor of the Puget Sound Traditional Jazz Society. Our dad and grandpa loved animals and his house was always open to stray cats, dogs, and anyone needing shelter and comfort. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia, and his parents Harvey and Inez Beard. Curt will be greatly missed by his children Angela, Michelle Cuykendall (Allan), Rachel Cottingham (Keith), Gregory, Micheal, Emily and Nick; four grandchildren, Travis, Chelsea, Jason and Haley; his sister Reva Johnson (Paul), his Starbucks family and numerous other family and friends. Funeral on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 12 noon at Becks Funeral Home in Edmonds. Announcement: In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to PAWS, the Puget Sound Traditional Jazz Society, or the American Cancer Society.
