Dolores Soderston DuPuis Sekan, age 93, of Venice, Florida, passed away on May 6, 2015 in Palm Harbor, Florida. She was born on February 7, 1922 in New Haven, Connecticut. Dolores was a member of the Myakka Pines Golf Club in Englewood, was an avid bridge player and volunteered for many environmental and animal rescue organizations. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War as a M.A.S.H. nurse. Dolores is survived by her two children, Linda H. DuPuis and Lloyd H. DuPuis; her brother-in-law, Norman Kempf and a sister-in-law, Ruth Soderston. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, Florida 33760. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.
