Laurence D. "Larry" Colony
October 13th, 1931 - October 24th, 2014
Laurence Dana Colony III, 83, of Venice, formerly of Massachusetts passed away peacefully at his home on October 24, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Colony served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the insurance industry in Boston, MA in 1982. He was an Aleppo Temple Shriner. Larry is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Bernice Jones, his daughters, Laura Colony of Newton, MA and Linda (Joe) Rivera of Petaluma, CA, granddaughter Keri Chittick and husband Dayn, great granddaughter Mirabelle Chittick, and sister Dorothy DeTore of Ponce Inlet, FL, nephew and niece Kevin and Tracy Lucciarini. Larry's life will be celebrated at 1:00pm on Wednesday, October 29th with services in the Sabal Chapel at Farley Funeral Home in Venice. Entombment with military honors will take place in Venice Memorial Gardens following services. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Larry's memory to Tide Well Hospice, Inc., 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238. To send condolences, please visit www.farleyfuneralhome.com.
