Anne Louise Nelskog

Anne Nelskog, 91, was born in West Haven, CT on May 25, 1924. She had five brothers and three sisters, one being her twin. She met her husband of nearly 70 years, Wally, at Double Beach in Brandford, CT while he was attending Yale University serving in the Army in 1943. After they were married, they moved to Spokane, WA where he got his discharge from the Army, and worked at KHQ as an announcer. When Wally decided to build his own radio stations, Anne became very involved in Wallys business activities managing several office buildings they had purchased in Everett and Seattle. She also worked as his Corporate Secretary at KIXI, Seattle; KYXY, San Diego, CA; KORD, Pasco; KQTY, Everett; amongst other radio stations.She was president of Seattle University Guild for two terms, 1969-71. She also served as Trustee of Edmonds/Everett Community College in 1968, followed by an appointment as Trustee at Seattle University in 1971. Her greatest joy was working at Holy Rosary Grotto with a group of close friends, or playing bridge.Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Wally; her son Scott, who was tragically killed in a plane crash in 1969; as well as by her parents, Louise and Louis Bower, four brothers and three sisters.She is survived by her beloved daughter, Carol Arkell (Bill) and grandsons, Mark and Jeff (Lindsey); her brother Frank Bower (Nita); her sister-in-law, Judy Dockendorf; and many nephews and nieces, too numerous to name.A Rosary will be said on Sunday, March 20 at 4pm at Becks Tribute Center, 405 5 Ave. S in Edmonds. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 21, at Holy Rosary Church, 630 7 Ave. N, Edmonds; with Graveside following at Holyrood Cemetery in Shoreline.In lieu of flowers, please support your local charity or to Holy Rosary Parish, P.O.
