Eric Michael Eyman, age 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, July 7, 2016 in his home in Bothell, Washington after a three year battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born on October 21, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio to Charles and Pauline (Naegele) Eyman, the oldest of three children. Eric grew up in Vermilion, Ohio were he collected stamps and enjoyed ice skating on the frozen canals in the winter. Eric attended Ohio State University for his freshman year of college in 1959. Eric then served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963 and was based in Germany as a Communications Specialist. After leaving the military Eric attended San Francisco State University from 1963 to 1968 where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting. Eric graduated from college with honors from the Fraternity of Beta Gamma Sigma in recognition for high scholastic achievement. He met his wife Colleen Dorothy Kearns in college and they married in 1970.He served most of his career, 33 years, working for Dow Jones Service as a Service Manager. After retiring from Dow Jones he also worked at ATT Wireless and HR Block as a tax specialist.He enjoyed cooking, biking, carpentry, genealogy research, and was involved in Irish Set dancing for many years. He loved to eat great food. Eric had a great sense of humor and loved bad puns. His favorite pastime was reading; he was often found with a thick novel nearby. Eric was very patient, kind, and always welcomed visitors into his home with an open heart. He loved the game of Trivial Pursuit, which he always won.Erics greatest love was his family; he is survived by his wife, Colleen; his children, Brendan, Kevin, Malcolm, Eileen, Daniel, and Shane; Grandchildren, Benjamin, Jackson, Ava, Lila, Elsa, Atticus, Smith, Hunter, Landon, and Brendan; sisters, Holly Whitten and Chris Knox. Eric was preceded in death by his parents.Funeral Mass for Eric Eyman will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church on 17856 NE Woodinville Duvall Rd, Woodinville, WA 98077 with Father Frank Schuster officiating. A rosary service will begin at 10:15. Memorial service and luncheon will be at 12 PM in the church hall. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery at 2:15 in Edmonds, WA. Flowers or cards may be sent to 11822 NE 157th Street, Bothell, WA, 98011.
