R. Terry Cooper, age 63, of Venice, FL, died on April 14, 2014. He was born in Englewood, NJ on March 20, 1951, and moved to the Venice area 14 years ago. Terry was a proud member of the United Auto Workers Union of America, retiring in 2000 after 30 years with General Motors. He loved to play golf and was a member and former board member of the Venice East Golf Association. Terry enjoyed all physical fitness activities. He is survived by his loving spouse, Christine Ewing Cooper of Venice, FL; mother Hilja Jokela Cooper of Holly Hill, FL; brothers Tunis and his wife Karen of Brackney, PA., Henry of Ormond Beach, FL, and John of Holly Hill, FL; brother in law Jeff Ewing and wife Jackie of Orlando, FL; nephew Calvert Ewing of Orlando, FL; nieces Ciara Ewing of Orlando, FL, Jennifer Cooper and husband Christopher Butler of Seattle, WA, and Lori Cooper Zboray and husband Patrick of Philadelphia, PA; and caring friends Joe and Sharon Williams of Venice, FL. Terry was a wonderful and devoted husband and friend. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at ChristUnitedMethodistChurch on Friday, April 25th at 11 AM.
