Lexington - Winfriede Spellman, 84, wife of the late Lawrence Spellman, passed away on September 16, 2022, in Lexington. Winny was born in Cologne, Germany on March 26, 1938, to the late Bernhard and Emmi Palm. She was a veteran of the United States Air Force and later was an executive assistant with Siemens prior to retirement and was a member of Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary. Winny will be remembered by her friends and family as a woman who spent a lifetime in the service of others, waking every morning with a renewed spirit and the goal of making someone else’s day a little brighter. Only the thought of seeing her again in the presence of our Father comes close to filling the void left by her absence in our lives. Winny is survived by her daughter, Monica (Stuart) Lindfors, of Lexington, her son, Kevin Peter Blochowiak, her brother, Berhard Palm, her sister, Trudy Reusser, her granddaughters Baelyn and Kaeley, grandson Spencer and many step-grandchildren. A gathering in honor of Winny will be held on Monday, September 26th, 2022, at Clark Legacy Center, Nicholasville, from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm. A memorial service will follow at 12:30, ending with a procession to Camp Nelson National Cemetery where she will be buried with full military honors."
