Michael Alan Reed passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 29, 2018, at Providence Hospital in Everett, Washington. He was born in Inglewood, California on March 24, 1944. He was the 3rd oldest of 11 children born to Ivan and Harriett Reed. After his family moved from LA, he graduated from Mater Dei Catholic High School in Santa Ana. Mike loved his sports in school and continued the love of football, baseball and golf by passing it on to his children and grandchildren. He met the love of his life in 1967 and married Catherine Helen Bartling on May 17, 1969. After starting his family in Fullerton, California; Mike and Cathy moved with their three kids to Edmonds, Washington in 1975. He worked and traveled all over the northwest while working with his dad and brothers in the family business “Ivan’s Custom Draperies and Floors”. Mike continued to grow his family and added seven more children. He golfed when he could, took the family camping, traveled to California to visit family, taught us all cribbage, what music was best, and how to dance! He definitely was competitive at most things. But most of all, he loved the rosary and going to Mass. He wanted us to love and know Jesus through the Eucharist and through Our Blessed Mother just like he did. Mike is survived in death by his wife, Cathy; their 10 children: Michele (Jack) King, Monique (Jean) Richard, Michael (Bibi), Jeremiah (Bert), Rebecca (Noel) Garrett, Cynthia, Philip (Stephanie), Rick (Melanie), Tim (Bre), Josh (Tiffany); and 28 grandchildren (0-25yrs). He is also survived in death by five brothers: Dave, Jim, Tom, John, and Will Reed, along with many nieces and nephews. Mike was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and grandpa. He taught us the gift of faith, family and laughter. We will never forget his stories or the life lessons he wanted us all to know! “And There you Go!”
