Edward William Connell, 77, of North Port, FL passed away at his home on January 5, 2009. Edward was born December 12, 1931 in Queens, NY the son of the late Edward Francis and Lorretta Katherine (Fahey) Connell. Edward was a Chief Petty Officer, AMHC with the United States Navy for 22 years until his retirement on August 16, 1972. He was a life member of VFW post 8203 and also held a position with the postʼs Honor Guard, and a member of the Am Vets 2000. Edward is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Janet, brother Gerry and wife Liz of Brooklyn, NY. Sons, Edward and wife Arlene, James and wife Robin; son in law, Michael Dean; daughters, Betty Ann and husband Bob Diegel, Kathy and husband Neil Olmsted, Margaret and husband John Steiner, Janet and husband Chris Ray. Edward and Janet shared the joy of 22 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many loving family members.
