Nancy Anne Marre

Nancy passed away on April 11, 2026, in Sacramento. She was born in Sacramento and raised in Sutter Creek. After high school Nancy moved back to Sacramento and began working at Pacific Telephone, then Standard Oil of California, before beginning her 40 year career at Sacramento City College, retiring in 2001.

Nancy was active at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sacramento, where she became a Lay Minister after her retirement. Nancy also loved to travel. At a young age she traveled throughout Europe with a couple friends, but she most enjoyed her Sports Leisure trips with her sister Barbara. Nancy also enjoyed photography and narrating slide shows.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Solena Marre and her sister Barbara Marre and leaves behind several cousins. A special thanks goes to her family, friends, the Sisters of Mercy who she dearly cherished, and for the caretakers at Mercy McMahon Terrace and Mercy Hospice who provided wonderful care and support.

A rosary will be said on Wednesday, April 29, at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Church in Sacramento and will immediately be followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Nancy will be interred at the Catholic Cemetery in Sutter Creek. The burial is private.
