Nick Frank Visser

Nick Frank Visser, age 63, of Wallace, CA, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014, with his family by his side. Nick was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer 3 years ago. He lived strong and fought hard. Nick was born in Santa Monica, CA on March 22, 1951, a son of the late KIaasje (Dykstra) and Frank Cornelius Visser. Raised in Southern California Nick moved to Stockton in 1978 where he continued to work as a commercial painter but the job he truly enjoyed was driving bus for Stockton City Transit (SMART) for 17 years before retiring. He was known for his great sense of humor and his passion for fishing and his love for his family; spending every second he could with his grandchildren. Nick did everything for everybody and was there for family and friends. He was a good man with a big heart. When Nick retired he moved to Wallace and became caretaker of his best friends, Alan & Kris’ property, helping them build their home. He is survived by his daughters, Nicole and her husband, Mike Dunlavy of Valley Springs, CA, Katie and her husband, Hugo Villa of Stockton, CA; sister, Alida, and her husband, Steve Wyrick of Roswell, NM; brother, Kenny Visser of Stockton, CA; grandchildren, Ashlee, Lisa, Tyler, Michael, Onystie, Drake; great grandchildren, Amanda and Dahlia. He was preceded by his daughter, Lisa Visser in 1993. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life at Family Home at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 24, 2014.
