Benjamin H. Ginsberg
September 11, 1918 — June 2, 2006
GINSBERG, Dr. Benjamin H., 87 of St. Petersburg. Died Friday, June 2, 2006 at Kindred Hospital St. Petersburg. Born in Grand Forks, North Dakota, he came here in 1970 from Chicago, Illinois. He was a physician and was director of the department of anesthesiology at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Chicago and at Palms of Pasadena Hospital in South Pasadena from 1970 to 1988. He was a member of Temple Beth-El in St. Petersburg and Congregation Beth Sholom in Gulfport. He was a graduate of University of North Dakota with a degree in pharmacy, class of 1943 and a graduate of Loyola Medical School in Chicago, class of 1949. He was a member of the American Medical Association. He loved classical music and was a patron of the Florida Orchestra. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, June T; two sons, Eliot, Riverview, FL., Michael, Tampa; daughter, Sheila Ginsberg, Gainesville; sister, Sarah Berkal, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Funeral service will be 1 PM on Monday (June 5, 2006) at David C. Gross Beth David Chapel with Rabbi Gabriel Ben-Or officiating. Interment will follow in Royal Palm Cemetery South, St. Petersburg. Memorials may be made to Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, New York, NY. 10018.
