Bernice Mutch

December 14, 1926 — April 28, 2007

Bernice Marie Hiscock Mutch died Apri128, 2007 at Woodside Hospice House, St. Petersburg, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Heber and Elsie Hiscock, her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, John (Jack) Mutch and her grandson. Benjamin Torrey Mutch. Bernice lived and raised her four sons in Detroit, Michigan and resided in Florida for the past 32 years. She lived her life with an insurmountable enthusiasm and energy which she maintained until the end. Those who met her knew what a wonderful, amazing and inspiring woman she was and the many lives that she touched. She was passionate about her family and friends. She belonged to Pasadena Community Church, where she had a special relationship with her beloved singles group. She also enjoyed her "calendar girl" friends with whom she traveled and shared many happy times. Bernice was an avid volunteer throughout her entire life. This road led her from being President of the Redford Suburban League in Detroit to most recently being a tireless volunteer for Hospice of The Florida Suncoast. She participated in several charity fashion shows that raised thousand of dollars for hospice programs. She was a very classy lady who enjoyed the spotlight and brought others into it with her. She was a devoted mother, and is survived by her four sons, Gary (Marsha), John (Sue), Craig (Patti), and Dale (Gretchen) and the loves ofher life, her grandchildren, Jason(Carmen) Mutch, Justin(Lucy) Mutch, Angie(Jason) Mutch Koonin, Billy Mutch, Christopher, Kimberly, and Katie Mutch, Nic, Luke, Amelia, Victoria, and Clarissa Mutch. She also enjoyed and cherished spending time with her eight great- grandchildren. Surviving Bernice are her very dear brothers and sisters-in laws, William Hiscock of California, Robert and Nancy Hiscock of St. Pete Beach, Betty Mutch of California and Shirley Hiscock of New Mexico. She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers from Hospice at Palms of Pasadena and Woodside Hospice House. Memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Bernice Mutch to Hospice of The Florida Suncoast or Pasadena Community Church, St. Petersburg, Florida. A celebration of her life will be on Friday, May 4, 2007 at 11:30 AM in the Goodwin Chapel of the Pasadena Community Church, 227 70th St. S., St. Petersburg, with Rev. Sidney Tompkins officiating.
