McKnight, Charles H. Jr. "Mac" Took our Lord's hand on Monday, Oct. 22nd, 2007. Leaving behind his cherished wife, Janet; grieving daughters Janet Cook and Linda McLaughlin; loving and devoted grandchildren, Anita Trent, Janet McLaughlin, Tony Trent; and great grand kids, Tiffany, Mandi & Ronnie, with the memories and lessons of their life together. Charles was a very driven and successful man throughout his life. After he graduated from New York Military Academy, he was appointed by president FDR as the Presidential Elect in 1943 to West Point. He went on to graduate in 1947 with a Bachelors Degree in engineering. After West Point Mac went to work for the Corps of Engineers in the Panama Canal and throughout the Caribbean. In the 1950's Mac and his wife settled down in Gulfport to raise their family and run his business CHM Electronics. Not only did Mac love his family and life, as he got older he spoke frequently of the respect and love he held for his associate, friend and ex son in law, Ron McLaughlin. Mac's passions in life were sailing, dining, dancing, cruises, parties, and his wife Janet. Charles will be missed and remembered always.
The family will be holding a service on Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 at 1:30 PM at David C. Gross Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, St. Petersburg.
