January 12, 1919 — July 24, 2006
HOROWITZ - Doris, 87, of Brandon, formerly of St. Petersburg, passed away Monday, July 24, 2006 at Life Path Hospice in Sun City Center, Florida. Born in Newark, New Jersey, she came to this area in 1973 from Colonia, New Jersey and moved to her son's home in Brandon eight years ago. She was a homemaker and past president of Five Towns condo association in St. Petersburg. She enjoyed bowling, reading and her grandchildren. Survivors include three sons, Lawrence H. (Maureen) Horowitz of Edison, New Jersey; Lewis I. (Carol) Horowitz of White House Station, New Jersey, and Barry D. (Diane) Horowitz of Brandon, Florida; one daughter, Frances A. (Edward) August of Lincroft, New Jersey; one brother, Irving Tarchis of Rahway, New Jersey; one sister, Lillian Mattia of Port Jervis, New Jersey; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, July 27, 2006 at David C. Gross Beth David Chapel, 6366 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, with Rabbi Gabriel Ben-Or officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Largo, Florida. Mrs. Horowitz was predeceased by her husband, Robert in 1996.
David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Beth David Chapel, St. Petersburg is serving the family.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
