Eliza Marie Fox

Mrs. Eliza "Marie" Fox, 87, of St. Petersburg, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital in South Pasadena, Florida. She was born in Morgantown, West Virginia; moved to St. Petersburg in 1949 and worked many years as a mentor in the children's youth ministry. While in her 60's, she worked at a children's retreat in North Carolina and in her 70's, she worked at Bear Creek helping children learn to read. She was a member of DAV Women's Auxiliary West Virginia Society and Faith Church in St. Petersburg. She was a true child of God; a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, partner and friend. Survivors include her son, Earl of St. Petersburg, Florida; one daughter; Roxie Parmelee of Lansing, Michigan; two sisters, Adaline Firlie of Severn, Maryland and Lucille Stewart of Fairmont, West Virginia; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Fox was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Fox. Friends and family will gather from 11:00 AM through Noon, Friday, January 25, 2008 at Faith Church, 6646 1st Avenue South, St. Petersburg, where services will be held at 12:00 PM (noon).
