Florence S. Stouffer
January 30, 1918 — August 24, 2007
Florence S. Stouffer, 89, of the Fountains in South Pasadena and formerly of Gulfport, passed away Friday, August 24, 2007 at The Springs at Boca Ciega Bay. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she, along with her beloved husband of sixty-seven years, Ralph E. Stouffer Jr., became seasonal residents of this area in 1970 while living in River Forest, Illinois. They then relocated to Oak Brook, Illinois in 1974 and became permanent Florida residents in 1987. Mrs. Stouffer was an avid reader and world traveler. She and her husband took a total of fifty-eight cruises worldwide. She was an exceptional needlepoint artist, having completed numerous pieces including The Old Masters. She was Roman Catholic and a member of Most Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Gulfport. Survivors include her husband; one son, Ralph E. (LaVonne) Stouffer III of St. Paul, Minnesota; one daughter, Ellamarie (Wesley) Boersma of St. John, Indiana; four grandchildren; Kristin (Thomas) Meckey and Joseph E. Stouffer, both of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Laura (Carl) Johnson of Crown Point, Indiana and Juliet (James) McNulty of Chicago, Illinois; three great-grandchildren; Margaret Jeanne Meckey of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Clara Christine Johnson and Alex Joseph Johnson, both of Crown Point, Indiana.
A memorial gathering for Mrs. Stouffer will be Sunday, September 30, 2007 at 1PM in the auditorium at "The Fountains", 1255 Pasadena Avenue South in South Pasadena.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.
