Frank Hope Davis

DAVIS - Frank Hope Jr., 85, of Treasure Island, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Bay Pines Veteran's Hospital. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Mr. Davis lived in California and the Virgin Islands before returning here in 2003 to retire with his wife of sixty-one years, Dunedin native, Mary Hanna Davis, with whom he married in Dunedin in 1946 and recently renewed his wedding vows. He was an Air Force veteran of WW II having served with the 8th Air Force Wing. He was a graduate of Cornell University School of Hotel Management where he earned his B.S. degree. He was the owner, manager and Vice President of Public Relations at Host International Inc. and Danish Chalet Inn in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. He retired as an executive in the hospitality industry after sixty-three years of service. He was an avid sailor, boat builder, fisherman and writer. He was Lutheran. Survivors include his wife, Mary Hanna Davis; daughter, Lynda Davis Blankley of Washington, D.C.; two sons, John W. Davis of San Juan Capistrano, California and Jack H. Davis of Cardiff, California and five grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at Lutheran Church of the Holy Comfort, in Virginia, with Rev. Norb Kablitz officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington National Cemetery.
David C. Gross Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, Central Avenue Chapel, St. Petersburg is serving the family.
