REYNOLDS - Girard I. "Wimpy", 84, of South Pasadena, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Palms of Pasadena Hospital in South Pasadena. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he came to Florida in 1985 from Silver Spring, Maryland. He served in the US Air Force in WW II and was a graduate of the University of Maryland where he earned his Master's degree in education. He was a physical education teacher in the Montgomery County Maryland school system for twenty-seven years, having coached at Montgomery Blair High School where he was a graduate. He was the opening athletic director at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Maryland. He was an avid sports fan and loved dancing with his wife of sixty years, who preceded him in death two weeks ago. Survivors include a son, Gary, of Tierra Verde; a daughter, Jacqueline Ann Bilobran, of Wilmington, North Carolina; and two grandchildren, Andrew Reynolds of Tallahassee, Florida and Emily Bilobran of Greenville, North Carolina. Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth, January 31, 2007.
David C. Gross Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, Central Avenue Chapel, St. petersburg is serving the family.
Memorial services are pending for next month in Maryland. Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds will be laid to rest together at Arlington National Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial donations be made in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society.
