Harold Barian

November 29, 1928 — March 6, 2008

Barian, Harold 79, passed away before dawn March 6, 2008. Born in Chicago, he moved to Madeira Beach, FL, in 1986 from Milwaukee, WI. He was a consummate businessman, a deal-maker, who loved work more than anything. Over the years he had careers in banking, real estate development and the mortgage business. He had a law degree from Marquette University, Milwaukee, and a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University, Chicago. He had served in the army at the end of WWII. As long as he could, he enjoyed sailing, playing tennis, fishing with his grandson, and going to art shows with his wife. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Arlene; two children, Swami Tadatmananda of Somerset, New Jersey and Lori Barian and her husband Robert Karp of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two grandchildren, Austin and Hannah Woods; and five brothers and their spouses, Leonard and Iris, Sam and Patricia, John and Suzanne, Allen and Rosemary, and Robert and Eris. He was an active member of the Treasure Island Yacht Club, having served on the Board of Trustees and volunteer committees over many years. A memorial service will be held in Florida at the Treasure Island Yacht Club Tuesday, March 11, 4-6 PM. In Milwaukee, WI, a memorial service will be held in June, details to be announced via email.
