JAMES R. FRIEDMAN, 59, of Solon Ohio, died on Sept. 13 from complications of gall bladder cancer. Born in Cleveland on Sept. 26, 1947. Graduated from Ohio State University. Jim was president of Consumer Plumbing and Heating Supply, Bedford. His hobbies were photography and woodworking. His great passion was supporting the efforts of the men and women serving in the military, especially the 3rd United States Infantry (The Old Guard), the ceremonial branch of the Army, including the Sentinels at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers, The Fife and Drum Corp, Caissons, and The Drill Team. Jim received many awards for his support. Jim was awar-ded an honorary tomb guard badge in appreciation of his continued support of their efforts. Beloved son of Richard C. of St. Petersburg and the late Charlotte Friedman; dear brother of Donna J. (Rodney) Was-serstrom; loving uncle of Kelli (Dr. Jeffrey) Gellis and Bradley (Julie) Was-serstrom and great uncle of Chelsea Wasserstrom and Sophie Gellis; cherished friend of Martin and Katherine Singer, Leonard Singer and Kelly McColgan. Graveside services 10:45AM Friday, September 28, 2007 at Woodlawn Memory Gardens, 101 58th Street South, St. Petersburg. Friends who wish may contribute to the American Cancer Society.
